Thomas Cruise Mapother IV, was born in 1962, we all know him as Tom Cruise. Tom grew up in Syracuse, New York with his sisters and his mom Mary Lee and father Thomas Cruise Mapother III.  At age 14 Tom Cruise attended the Franciscan seminary to fulfill his dream to become a priest but little did he knew that he would become one of the highest paid movie actor in movie history. While in high school, Cruise fell in love with acting and instantly drop the idea of becoming a priest to focus on his acting career. He started is acting career in 1981 in the romantic drama film, “Endless Love” at age 19. He played a young character by the name of Billy in the film; Cruise was given a small role in the film. His major role came in the romantic comedy “Risky Business that was released on August 1983. Within a few years Tom Cruise was one of the highest paid actors in the world, averaging a whopping $15,000,000 million dollars a movie.  Movies like Mission Impossible, Mission Impossible 2, Mission Impossible 3, and Interview with the Vampire that became a blockbuster hits. Tom Cruise is a gifted actor and filmmaker, who has been nominated for three Academy Awards and has won three Golden Globe Awards. Cruise is now one of Hollywood major player in the movie industry, starring in numerous films.

Endless Love (1981))

In this film directed by Franco Zeffirelli, Tom Cruise played his first part in the Drama-Romance movie Endless Love. Cruise was given a small role in this romantic film about two young teenagers who fell in love for the very first time. After realize that their love won’t last due to circumstance and accident. Starring Brooke Shields, Martin Hewitt, Tom Cruise, and Shirley Knight .








Risky Business (1983)


Paul Brickman directed Tom Cruise first major role in a movie in the comedy-crime-drama Risky Business. It’s a about a young teenager, who is left at home by his parents, looking to have a good time at home while his parents are away but the situation turns out to be more than he can handle. Starring Tom Cruise, Rebecca De Mornay, and Joe Pantoliano.





Born on the Fourth of July (1989)


A Biography-Drama film directed by Oliver Stone. Where Tom Cruise plays Ron Kovic, a war hero, who was paralyzed in the Vietnam War. He has now turn his attention in becoming a political activist, after feeling that his country he fought for has now turn their back on him and betrayed him. A first biography film for Tom Cruise, also starring Raymond J. Barry, and Caroline Kava









Far and Away (1992)

In this romantic adventure movie directed by Ron Howard. Cruise played a young Irish man, who fell in love with his landlord’s daughter and decided to move away to United States with her after getting in trouble with her father. The young couple dreams of owning their own land in their new country, so they find jobs and begin to save for the future of purchasing their land.  Cruise became on local bare hands boxer and went undefeated for many matches, until he was finally defeated. Interview with the Vampire (1994)

One of Tom Cruise most famous role, “Interview with the Vampire” was a huge success at the box office, directed by Neil Jordan, this film host a number of big actors. It’s about a vampire that tells his life story about the things he had to go through and witness with his own eyes. All the love, hunger, betrayal and loneliness he had to endure in his immortal life. Co-starring Brad Pitt, Antonio Banderas, Kristen Dunst 












Mission: Impossible (1996)

One of Tom Cruise many blockbuster films “Mission Impossible” was a huge success 
worldwide, setting the trend for many to come, directed by Brian De Palma and co-starring Jon Voight and Emmanuelle Beart. In this action-adventure film, Tom Cruise plays a secret agent by the name of Ethan Hunt. He must discover a spy within his organization and clear his name of being disloyalty to the organization. Now he must do the mission impossible to reveal the true mastermind behind the scene 








Eyes Wide Shut (1999)

In the drama-mystery film, “Eyes Wide Shut” was the last movie Stanley Kubrick directed. Tom Cruise plays a doctor who is married to Nicole Kidman who was his wife then, when the camera isn’t rolling. Living in New York City, Cruise went on a dangerous long night of sexual adventure and moral discovery. After his wife told him that she almost had an affair with him in the pass.




Mission: Impossible II (2000)

Following the blockbuster hit “Mission Impossible” John Woo went and directed the sequel “Mission Impossible 2”. This action adventure film finds secret agent Ethan Hunt at it again to do the mission impossible but this time he must travel to Sydney. His mission is to search and destroy a deadly genetically disease by the name of “CHIMERA”.  He must do the mission impossible to prevent the disease from killing millions of persons. Co-starring Dougray Scott and Thandie Newton







Minority Report (2002)

In the way distance future, murderers are arrested before they can commit a crime due to a special police unit that can see the crimes before it’s committed. It all goes wrong when an officer from the special police unit is accused of a future crime that he will soon commit. Now he must race against time to find out the truth behind his future crime before it’s too late. This action mystery film was directed by Steven Spielberg and co-starring Colin Farrell and Samantha Morton







The Last Samurai (2003)

In the action drama film, Cruise plays an American military soldier who was hired by the Emperor of Japan to train his army. Cruise was capture by the Samurais in his battle with them. After nursing him back to health by his captive, Cruise must now adapt to a new culture, and decide which side to take in the final battle with the Emperor’s army and the Samurais 



Collateral (2003)

Tom Cruise plays a contract killer who hires a taxi driver “Jamie Foxx” to go around with him to do his killing in the city of Los Angeles. The taxi driver find himself being a hostage in the situation. Now he must try to save himself and one last victim. This crime-drama-thriller film was directed by Michael Mann and also featuring Jada Pinkett-Smith.
